What the heck is Sublimation you say?! Don’t worry, we got you!
Sublimation printing is a popular method for printing high quality images onto a variety of surfaces and fabrics. With no resolution loss your image transfers onto an item of your choosing as clear as the source image. This process very sustainable and maintains it’s quality throughout the years.
How Does it work?
The procedure for sublimation involves a chemical process which turns a solid into gas without going through the liquid phase. A digital printer uses a specialized sublimation ink. It is then placed into a heat press with the material and exposed to very high temperatures where the ink turns from solid to gas, the pores of the material open, and the ink permeates the fibers of the material. Once the pressure is released, the ink returns to it’s solid state, the pores of the material close- trapping the ink inside.
