What is Silk Screen Printing?
As one of the most popular printing techniques, silk-screen printing originated in China in the 18th century, and has been used in the commercial and artistic worlds for over 100 years.
The process involves placing a fine mesh screen, usually made of silk- hence the name, stretched over a wooden frame, over the object or fabric being printed on. Color is then forced through the screen using a rubber blade, or squeegee.
This is a very cost effective, fast, and long lasting option that can be used to customize a variety of items from apparel, to dishes, tote bags, wood, ceramics, or other items.
